Stomach fat can be bothersome no matter what age you are. If you are looking to get rid of this so you look better in clothes and can be more confident, then there are five things that can help you out. But, one important thing to remember is that you have to work for fat loss. Results won’t be overnight and a lot of effort is required to see a difference. Fortunately it will be worth it when you see a change and are able to fit in the clothes that you desire!
1. Drink More Water
Drinking more water is going to get rid of extra water weight, which can make your stomach look bloated. Although this won’t get rid of stomach fat, it will help flush your body out. Another benefit of drinking more water is that it makes you feel full so you eat less food. Replace sodas or other beverages with water and drink a glass before you eat a meal. This will help you lose more weight than you would not drinking water or drinking other beverages.
2. Quit Eating Fast Food
Fast food is bad for you, and this is something you probably already know. Even salads from fast food restaurants have sugar and salt in them, so they are best to avoid. By eating less fast food throughout the month you will cut out a lot of saturated fats, trans fats, sodium, sugar and many other things that are bad for your belly. If you replace these with low-calorie foods, then your stomach will have a lot less fat than it would otherwise.
3. Stop Drinking Soda
Packed full of chemicals and sugar, soda is one of the worst beverages you can drink. This also has a lot of sodium in it, which means it’s going to make you look and feel bloated. By drinking water instead of soda you will lose weight and see your stomach fat shrink pretty quickly. Even diet soda is worth avoiding, as it has a lot of questionable chemicals in it that are bad for your body.
4. Build Muscle
Muscle will make you look leaner and will replace fat, so weight-bearing exercises are important. This doesn’t mean do a bunch of crunches, as these won’t help you build muscle. You should instead do lunges, squats and other weight bearing exercises. By regularly doing these exercises you will build a lot of muscle all over your body, which will help you strengthen your core. As you become stronger you will lose quite a bit of stomach fat.
5. Do Cardio
Cardio is important for your heart, health and weight loss as well! Run, jog, walk, bike, row or do any other exercise that gets your heart rate up. You can do this daily, but you should interchange it with muscle building exercises as well. Once you start to exercise more you will lose belly fat, but you will also lose fat from all over the rest of your body.
